Trail Overview
The E-Line trail cuts east to west through Capitol State Forest. Starting off of Bordeaux Paved Road, the E-Line is a hard-pack dirt road through typical Pacific Northwest forest. This wooded road has plenty of spur trails to explore; a few of the trails have ditches to cross but most are easy to turn off and travel down. The E-Line is well traveled by ATV/ dirt bikes as well as logging trucks, but there is plenty of room for passing as well as dirt pullouts. Past the 6-mile marker, look for E-3200 on your right. Going up a few hundred yards will lead you to a large quarry that has been used primarily as a shooting pit. Driving beyond the quarry up onto the hillside brings you above the trees and opens you up to some amazing views of the surrounding area. Traveling down the rest of the E-line, there will be a clear-cut opening to your left that gives you nice views down to Oakville. Continuing down the road and back into the trees, you'll get to the end of E-Line and meet up with the paved main D-Line. You can turn left to Highway 12 or right to make this a full loop.
