Trail Overview
This is the dirt trail portion of Butterfly Loop. It could be run from the highway towards the river ending at the Buttermilk Campground, with river access and a boat launch. Or this trail can be picked up from the campground and run out to the highway. There is another way to the highway that is also called butterfly loop, and it is paved. This trail is a wide dusty trail through tall trees. There are some open, dispersed campsites just outside the Buttermilk Campground, and there are also many smaller trails that lead off from this one that could have more camping or be fun to explore. This is a popular area for ATVs and UTVs. The trail is wide but has many ruts and potholes to watch out for. There are two bars of LTE service.
