Trail Overview
25 Trail is an out-and-back trail with some accessible side trails. The trail starts as a wide, sandy trail before it weaves into a very sandy pine forest. A 2WD car or even a low-clearance 4x4 will have trouble here. The sandy 2 -track is deep, and high clearance is needed. After the deep sandy section, you'll head down a sandy washout hill with exposed tree roots. From there, you'll continue through the forest where there are a few mud holes, but they're typically very shallow and minor. You'll finally take a bend in the trail where you'll be greeted with a great view of the Manistee River and a great riverside bluff campsite. This site can accommodate a small-sized group (roughly 5 vehicles can park and camp here). If you plan on camping off this trail, please tread lightly and seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station before camping here. All in all, this is a gorgeous trail that can be really fun. Make it a weekend campsite spot or use it as an out-and-back trail during a trail ride. This trail surely won't disappoint!

The Technical Rating and Difficulty is a 3 due to the washed-out sandy sections, a few mud holes, and trail obstacles up to 12 inches. This trail is typically one vehicle wide with a few different places to pass. It's mostly an easy two-track route with a few places to use caution. The sand at the beginning is deep. Please don't take a 2WD car down this trail.
