Trail Overview

This is a relatively short trail but it makes up for its brevity with a stunning shift in scenery the entire length of the route. From where it begins in grassy, sage terrain, it pops up next to Fall Creek and transitions to willows and aspens. There are several locations to pull off and enjoy lunch on carved-out benches or picnic tables and enjoy the scenic waterfalls. Speaking of waterfalls, the stream topples over several progressively larger and larger sets of waterfalls. The last two are large enough that you can climb around and stand underneath, get your picture taken, and enjoy the majestic views. After the falls, the trail passes by a short rock scree slope and then pops into the pines, only emerging momentarily to reveal a steep ledge to your left with an inspiring view of the canyon below where you were just minutes before. Finally, it jumps out on top to unveil even more panoramic sights over more canyons.

Difficulty

This is a narrow road. While it is possible to navigate in a truck or 4X4, the width can limit your options. Height can also be a factor. There are a few deadfall trees that can impede any vehicle that is too tall. Most of the trail is rock and gravel, though the top section is mostly dirt and can get pretty slick and mucky when it is wet.
