Trail Overview
This is an excellent cut-across trail between Senator Wash and Cistern Rd. It is a rocky trail with fun, deep wash transitions and some nice flexy sections to test your suspension. Also, watch for sharp, sneaky rocks at the trail's edge waiting to destroy a sidewall. A visually intriguing aspect of this area is the contrast of the smooth trail cutting through the lava fields. It is a sight to see. The valley below has lovely views as it works its way across the hillsides. The Colorado River can be spotted here and there along this route. In springtime, keep your eyes peeled for bright red flowering Ocatillo plants. This is the desert, so be sure to bring lots of water while traveling in this area. There are a few bars of Verizon LTE cell reception in the area.
