Trail Overview
This 5 mile trail in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest is a fun and easy single track that starts from the town of Osburn, Idaho, and can be used to access more single track trails that are farther north. Parts of the trail look like it's an old road since it's wider in parts, but eventually it gets narrower and narrower. There is a gate at the start a hundred yards up from Terror Gulch Road. There's no staging area for this trail, you have to just street park on the dirt road. The trail steadily gains 2,100 feet to the intersection with USFS Rd 424. The trail has a few ruts and some embedded rock in the surface of the trail during the climbs, but is pretty easy the whole way. Much of the trail is socked in in the trees, but it gets on top of the ridge at the north end with more open views of the forest. The trail is pretty overgrown in parts with lots of low branches to duck for. The trails in this area aren't signed very well, and there are a couple unmarked spurs to watch out for.
