Sevenmile Creek

Great day on the trail, color about halfway past peak. Trail easy on the first half (by 287 turnoff), a bit rockier as you climb to Red Feather.

Starting at the southern end of the trail, follows a creek(7 Mile) that you will cross 6-7 tims before you start to climb out of the valley. Lots of camping/picnic spots along this route Aspens and grass are growing in abundance since the fire. When you get to the top of the mountain it becomes a road. Lots of ATV's, motorcycles and 4 X 4's. The trail has just opened up since the Cameron Peak fire. I would do it on a weekday.

Many very small and shallow water crossings. Road is very smooth with many steep drainage ditches for the first half. The second half is much more overgrown and full of "baby head" rocks. Any relatively high clearance vehicle could do the first half but the second half requires something with a little bit more articulation.
