Camp and fish at the lakes and along Laurel Creek as it flows the entire length of Laurel Canyon. Open to all motor vehicles. Popular hunting area in the fall. Wildflowers and great fall color. Can get busy on holiday weekends. Snow may block top of trail into July.

This trail was a healthy mix of scenic, challenge, and length. Most of the trail isn't bad but there are some rough and off camber sections with sharp and larger rocks that will push stock 4x4s. Definitely recommend skid plates and rock rails or sliders for non lifted trucks. I bonked my only OEM skid plate pretty hard on a rock coming down and had to hammer it back into shape. The turn going down into the lake may be a challenge for full size rigs or people afraid of heights as you have to creep up to the rocky edge or rocky wall and it may help to have a spotter. The camp sites aren't that great with little flat spots and protection from the elements. The whole trail is really beautiful and has an excellent variety of scenery. Overall this is a great trail and a must do if you are in the Eastern Sierras and aren't afraid of some rocks.

Was a nice steady incline up. Trail was all sharp loose rock. Had to be in 4LO the whole up and down. Definitely airing down is HIGHLY recommended (I was at 20psi and felt very smooth). There’s one switch back at the end of the trail by lake that looks sketchy but as long as you stay wide and slow you can do it (backed out about 3 times). As long as you air down, stay on 4LO, go slow and have high clearance you should be fine. Lake views are amazing.

fun trail. Fist mile has some small rock gardens that we got right though. Rest is a shelf road going up the mountain with switchbacks. Loose rocks and some fixed bigger rocks but nothing crazy. The switchback to the lake was not as bad as others made it seem. Only had to backup once to make it down the switchback in my 2 door jeep. We all made it to the lake and fished. Took 2 2 door jeeps, a 4 runner stock with 31 inch tires, and a 2 door tacoma lifted.
