Trail Overview
Seminary is a long 11-mile single-track trail in the Kelly Motorized Trail System that is very rocky the entire way. It is full of big embedded boulders and loose rocks as it tightly curves under the pine trees. The south end starts at a parking area off Kelly Canyon Road, and it heads north all the way to the intersection with Airport Trail. There are a couple of small rock ledges that would be considered a bit harder, but most of the trail is just a very bumpy surface that tires you out even though it's not necessarily very difficult. The trail is very windy, often doubling back on itself, and it goes over a lot of volcanic rock. There is a smoother section in the middle that is sandy with bermed corners that is faster and flowier, and a nice relief from the rocks. There are more whoops in the northern half as well. The route is pretty flat as it winds through the forest, with very little elevation change.
