2103 West Fork Gold Creek

Trail Overview

This trail starts as a spur off of Gold Creek road just before the locked gate at mile 7 bridge. The trail is a fairly high use road that was built for logging trucks so even after a week of rain most AWD vehicles should be okay. No deep mud or ruts exist. Pictured are the couple of muddy spots or still water that you will find on the trail. Easily passable by most vehicles. There are informal campsites all along this road and you'll find hunting camps are prevalent depending on the season. Some of the locked side trails are open for Snowmobiles during winter, but remain closed to 4x4's. Eventually you'll come to the Y in the trail where the left (4323) takes you on the trail called Three Cougars. When you stay on trail 2103 to the right it immediately gets tighter and the water holes begin. These water holes are no more than 6 to 8 inches in depth. The trail is also much more skinny and tends to be about the width of a fullsize vehicle from here until the end. Along this lesser used section there are more campsites and pull offs. The trail ends at the river with an old bridge with a locked gate in front of it. There is a large built up fire pit with room for a larger group to camp directly on the side of the West Fork of Gold Creek. This riverside camp looks to be seldom used, but easy to access. There is no cell reception.

Difficulty

After rains it can be muddy, but the trail is compacted for logging trucks so no deep mud exists. Should be passable by any All Wheel Drive vehicle when wet.
