Trail Overview
Campesino is overall an easy-to-traverse dirt road, that has some rock gardens along the route. There are signs of some rutting and washouts and can become very muddy and slick during or after rain or snow melt. Some areas of the trail show signs of heavy rutting with no maintenance, but do offer bypasses. The trail will be easily passable by most stock 4x4s, however, a good set of tires is recommended to handle any of the mud, but there are no obstacles over 12" with the exception of some off-camber rutted areas. There are two drops along the trail that show signs of shallow water crossings with one of the two being slightly off-camber, both with very slippery mud at the bottom. The trail does provide several areas for dispersed camping and spectacular views. Cell service was spotty in low-lying areas but overall was good. There are a few spurs off the main trail that offer more areas to explore. The trail is primarily one vehicle wide, but does provide plenty of room in most places to pass.
