Trail Overview
Marapai Road is a moderately difficult route providing access to dispersed camping and OHV opportunities in the Prescott National Forest. Seven designated dispersed sites exist for the first half mile after exiting South Ponderosa Park Road. Two-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicles can access these sites. 4WD, high-clearance is recommended beyond this point, as the road can be severely rutted, and extremely rocky with loose rock chunks, as well as rock shelves. You will descend into the tall pines, at which point a required stream crossing is present. Beyond this point, the road begins to ascend again through some tight squeezes and corners before eventually intersecting FDR 9403Y. This is a short, yet challenging, and exciting route with beautiful scenery and opportunities to spot wildlife. Stick to previously disturbed areas only. Pack out what you pack in.

Difficulty
In its dry conditions this rating could be lower, however, there are enough chunky rock ledges, deep off-camber mud holes, and creek crossing that make this a moderately difficult trail. Prior Offroad experience would be beneficial.
