Trail Overview
The road to Darke Lake near Summerland, British Columbia, winds through lush areas of forest and beautiful landscapes. The road starts fairly smooth with occasional potholes and 2 car widths wide, with plenty of places to stop. There are several private properties along the way, including ranch/farmland. As you get closer to the lake, the road gets down to one car width and the potholes seem to get larger and more frequent. The camping area is surrounded by mature Douglas fir trees with some old-growth cottonwood a short distance from the lake. The Darke Lake Recreation Site is a rustic campsite with no designated sites, picnic tables, or water.
