Trail Overview
This is a beautiful scenic drive that connects Wycliffe Nature Park and St. Mary's Rec Site. Along the way, you will find beautiful views of the mountains, stunning creeks, hikes with mesmerizing views of the Rocky Mountains, and several rec sites that can be used year-round. There are a lot of trails that head off of this main access road, so you could spend a few days exploring just this area. In the summer, the scenery is super green, but in the fall, the Larch in the hills all changes to a bright yellow. In the winter, this road is part of a heavy snow belt, so the trees look like snow ghosts after a major snowfall.

Difficulty
In spring, summer, and fall, this is an easy 2 wide vehicle forest service road that can be traveled by most vehicles. In the winter, the difficulty increases as the road are not maintained, so be prepared with a 4x4, high clearance, and recovery tools. There is cell service for most of it, but you get less service the closer you are to St. Mary's Lake. Snow levels can get several feet deep, and it typically turns into a single track, so if you meet oncoming traffic, one of you might need to create your own path to let the other by.
