Trail Overview

The fire road off Airport Road near Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is a beautiful overlanding trail that takes you through a dense, serene forest with scenic views of small streams cutting through the landscape. The trail is accessible year-round, offering a unique experience in each season--lush green woods in the spring and summer, vibrant fall foliage, and a snow-covered wonderland in the winter. In the warmer months, the trail is rated as an easy Level 1 difficulty, making it suitable for stock Jeep vehicles. The path is mostly smooth with hills and valleys and passing alongside shallow streams. However, winter transforms this road into a far more challenging adventure, with snow and ice increasing the difficulty to a 4 or 5, demanding more off-road experience and vehicle modifications like better tires and recovery gear. While stock Jeeps can handle this trail during spring, summer, and fall, winter driving is not recommended without significant preparation.
