Trail Overview
FR 306S is a wide, dirt offshoot of FR 306. Ponderosa Pines and scrub brush, along with elk and wild horses, populate the area. After a rain or snow, the ruts that make up the road may become challenging, but in the dry season, that dirt is chalky and flies through the air behind you as you sail down this trail. While short, it offers a glimpse of what the Kaibab National Forest is all about - nature and trees. Although there are no campsites or obstacles on this trail, you'll find burn piles from the Forest Service's thinning and fire suppression efforts.
