Trail Overview
Climb 1,700 feet of steep grades and switchbacks with loose rock, a few ledges, and boulders to the top of Black Mountain. At the summit is a historic fire lookout tower with a 360-degree view of the Laramie Peak unit of Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. The beginning of this trail is an easement through private property, so be sure to stay on the trail and respect private property to keep this trail open.

Difficulty
This climb gets steeper and rougher the closer you get to the top with a few tight switchbacks and plenty of sharp loose rocks. Good brakes and good tires are a must for this trail.
