Trail Overview
This is a beautiful and moderately challenging section of the trail that is a continuation of the Elephant Hill Trail that runs along The Grabens until it rises out of the canyon via a rocky climb out. Spotters are not required for the climb except for beginner or novice drivers. High clearance is required as is 4-wheel drive. Having rear locker is definitely a big help. This is just beyond National Park boundaries, allowing for dispersed camping. The gate at the park boundaries is always to be left closed, regardless of whether you found it that way or not. Absolutely beautiful drive.

Difficulty
The majority of the difficulty rating is the climb out of the valley, however, there are some challenging sections just as you exit NP boundaries.
