Trail Overview
Gooseneck 3412 is a beautiful scenic drive along an easy gravel road that is well-maintained through the Mark Twain National Forest. This route is situated just southwest of Grandin, Missouri on the Current River in the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. This route leads to the Gooseneck Campground where you will find running water, group campsites, single campsites, restrooms, and day-use areas including a boat launch. This site has a day-use fee and camping fee which is 10.00 a day. There is an area for collecting firewood that is situated right off the road farther east down the road. This route is a total of 6.3 miles with trees that line the gravel road along with ferns and oak. This entire area is a massive canopy of life to explore which includes one of my favorite species. The Box Turtle is very prevalent in this area and can be found in the middle of the road in the forest and look like rocks. Please watch out for them as you explore this area. Some other attractions are all the different creeks, hiking, and biking trails along with the water activities like fishing, rafting, floating the river, and guided canoe trips. Entering into this area provides an absolutely stunning area to explore with over 650 different species of wildlife the Current River is a hidden gem that provides some of the most unique sounds of nature.
