Trail Overview
This route starts by turning off the highway at La Poza Grande. You can take the dirt or paved start to the trail. The town you drive through is "Nueva La Poza Grande" as the old town was destroyed by a Hurricane. If you continue down this road where the mapped track turns Northwest towards the beach you can check out the former location of La Poza. It's really interesting to see the remnants of the old town. As you turn Northwest onto the sand road you are headed towards the beach. The sand isn't deep, but heavy vehicles with small tires may want to air down slightly for flotation and comfort. Once you arrive at the beach you're at a small fishing camp with a lighthouse and several Pongas. If you want to camp or explore more remote areas airing down further is recommended and you can drive the beach for several miles North or South from this point. Be careful of the tides as some times of year the water comes up all the way to the beginning of the sand dunes. There is no cell signal.

Difficulty
Sandy Road with occasional large rocks or manmade items like a cinder block that fell off of a truck. Easy, but if you continue on the beach either direction further airing down is recommended, and be aware of tides.
