Trail Overview
It's best to enter the well-maintained road, which is the second option if you're heading to Bahia Tortuga. This trail offers a quick option for a round trip or loop that takes you to a vast salt flat, providing an excellent opportunity for pristine camping. It's particularly suitable if you're overlanding en route to Bahia Tortuga. If you have a 2WD vehicle, it's best to turn around at the roadblock of tires. At that point, you can skip the hill and return trail, and retrace your steps back the way you came. The road is mostly smooth and well-maintained during the outward journey. However, if you opt for the higher route on the return, there is a soft climb before the return, and you can expect some minor bumps and large sand drifts over the road, which could require 4WD or lower tire pressures.

Difficulty
This area should not be explored during rainy conditions or after any type of storm. Salt flats may appear dry, but underneath the crust, there can be very deep mud. Stay on the well-packed road or areas close to the road if you have a 2WD vehicle.
