Trail Overview

The Ponderosa Ranch boasts a network of marked motorcycle trails spanning 40-50 miles, making it a favorite destination for locals from Mexicali and surrounding areas. Visitors flock here for events, camping, and to cool off in the refreshing pools. The trail can be accessed either from below the ranch or from the road to Laguna Hanson. By informing the host at the ranch that you are following the onX trail, you can pass through without incurring a fee. Amenities at the ranch include camping facilities, showers, pools, and a store to cater to your needs. While primarily a motorcycle trail, it also accommodates quads and side-by-sides. Starting from the lower section, riders will quickly encounter a dry wash with deep sand leading into the ranch area. To avoid the deep sand, start the trail from the ranch entrance.From the ranch to the high road, the trail is well-packed, even in sandy sections, and features a fantastic 2-3 mile series of whoops and berms through a stunning forest. The trail concludes on a two-track path that leads back to the Laguna Hanson road.
