Trail Overview

This scenic desert trail is a beautiful drive along the tops of the hills. It is a less-traveled route than others in the area. It has long, loose, rocky hill climbs with off-camber sections. A steep transition at the bottom of one of the hills into and out is a wash that could be difficult for longer-wheelbase vehicles. The trail drops into a tight sandy wash with many desert plants intending to cause paint damage. The desert flora and fauna along this trail are stunning, with springtime bringing abundant colors, and the desert is lush and green. There's lots of wildlife to see as vultures circle overhead and ground squirrels dart in front of you on the trail with their tails straight up. This short but sweet trail has a lot of varied terrain for a fun run that's less chewed up than some of the other routes in the area.

Difficulty

This trail is rated for long, loose hill climbs and descents, off-camber transitions, and deep washouts that may be impassable for longer-wheelbase vehicles. Plenty of sharp desert plants along the side of the trail will cause paint damage and those Arizona pinstripes. Airing down tires will significantly aid in traction and comfort.
