Trail Overview
This trail is a fun and challenging loop into the desert. It features nice expansive views from some of its hilltops and challenging sections mixed in with long easy sections. There is a plethora of desert wildlife as one makes their way along the trail. One will encounter the mighty Saguaros up in the hills and fields of Ocotillo and Creosote down in the valley. For difficulty, there are some easy short hill climbs, some off-camber sections, deep washouts, and even a section of sandy wash to threaten getting stuck in. Some sections have narrow desert plants that threaten the very paint on a vehicle, while other areas offer potential damage to sidewalls if a careful line is not taken. Generally, it's a fun trail and should be approached with caution by a novice driver. There are two bars of LTE service in and out along this trail. This is the desert, be sure to bring plenty of water and be aware of dangerous desert creatures.
