Trail Overview
This trail is a perfect choice to get from Highway 89 to the boundary of the Piriah/Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. It is an easy twisty route across the desert. There are beautiful wildflowers in the springtime; be sure to stop and soak them in. Keep your eyes peeled for rusty artificers lining both sides of the trail. Within the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, dispersed camping is allowed outside the wilderness area in previously disturbed areas. No previously established camping areas were noticed on this short trail. There are two useless bars of Verizon 3G cell service in the area. It is recommended to download offline maps for the area before heading out here. Keep any gates closed to help keep any livestock off the highway. This is a remote area with the potential for extreme heat and cold. Bring a full-size spare tire and plenty of water, food, and gasoline.
