Trail Overview
Brushy Basin is wide and spacious, with plenty of room to roam and breathe while enjoying the scenery of the Prescott National Forest--for about 100 meters. After that, the trail narrows and becomes rocky, with loose, sporadic, off-camber uphill climbs. You most likely won't have time to enjoy the sounds of the birds chirping as the sound of the burberry bushes and manzanita scraping the paint off of your vehicle will drown them out. If you progress from east to west, the trail gets steadily more challenging, with a shelf road and a steep downhill on loose, rock-garden-type surfaces. Between the hills, you'll encounter wash crossings with steep entrances and exits. There is no service on this challenging two-track, so caution is urged.

Difficulty
This is an unmaintained trail, overgrown with vegetation guaranteed to cause paint damage. Wash crossings, loose rock climbs and descents, and very few places to pass make this trail a challenge.
