Trail Overview
The Buckhorn Canyon Trail is a rough one-lane trail that sports erosion, water damage, and sporadic rock gardens. There is no cell service on this trail, so offline maps are recommended. The canyon views on this trail are interesting, and there is space to explore the hills and rock formations, as this area seems to be sparsely traveled. It is popular with hunters, so there are some campsites, but those are few and far between. The intent was to map this canyon in its entirety, but the canyon closes out to vehicles where the trail stops in a double-waterfall feature near a wildlife water tank. Still the area is pretty cool, and worth the trip.
