Trail Overview
Fair Oaks Road, or Fair Oaks to Spider Ranch is a wide forest road with no obstacles on it. You'll find sections of this road are washboarded, as it gets a ton of traffic. It accesses ranches and remote neighborhoods in the area, as well as many other trails that lead through the Prescott National Forest to other trails, hunting areas, scenic views, and cool camp spots. There is much to explore in this forest, with mines, remote cabins, hunting, hiking trails, and wildlife. The road itself is somewhat maintained, though it is not clear if it is by the county or local land owners, or if there is an actual set schedule. Parts of this road can flood during monsoon season, and it's important to know the weather and follow local posted signage when traveling through. The road splits toward the South and terminates at private property, the Spider Ranch, which is well-marked.
