Trail Overview
The 9002q Longshot trail is a one-lane trail that traverses the grassland and mixed pine sections of the Coconino National Forest. Some ditch-type sections have exposed rocks and erosion and water damage that have produced mild off-camber features, but nothing that is cause for major concern. This section of the forest has little to no cell service, so offline maps are recommended as always. Along this trail, you might see elk, antelope, and deer. This area is popular with hunters, so don't be surprised to see sporadic campsites with primitive fire rings. As always, check county resources and forest information for fire permissions and regulations as this area is prone to large uncontrollable wildfires.
