Joe Tank is a good access road to places to hike, bike, horseback ride, 4-wheel, and camp, and includes many side trails. Many of them are spur trails created for hiking and biking. Some of the hiking, biking, and horseback trails share 2-track roads, so be cautious of hikers, bikers, and horseback riders when wheeling.

Access Description

This is easily accessed from Highway 260. The turn-out can be hard to see, and if coming from the Show Low area, it can be tough to turn left as there is no turn lane on the highway. You can also access it from FR300, FR135, FR136. For these routes, a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, and depending on time of year, 4WD.
