Trail Overview
Marteen Dam is a single-lane dirt track that runs through the Ponderosa Pines of this section of the Kaibab National Forest. As is typical of this area, erosion and water damage have shaped this trail leaving behind mud ruts and large puddle areas that, when dry, resemble driving through chalk or talcum powder. There is a hill climb to a "shelf type area" that is a tad rocky, and a few wash crossings on the way, but nothing too major. Some of the wash/erosion/water-damaged areas might be enough to hang a tire in the air and have steep entrances and exits. There is no service in this area of the forest, so offline maps are recommended.
