Trail Overview
Pipeline Road 796 is a pleasant drive through some of Arizona's beautiful country. This section of the road starts at the water crossing on its south end that links with trail 9031F. If one has a sufficient vehicle, the water crossing during monsoon season shouldn't be a problem. Thick mud and deep water accompany this particular feature linking the two trails. From the crossing, the road turns into red dirt and mud that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding landscape. Mostly open, this trail crosses several water-runoff points that could prove challenging in monsoon season. Rock gardens and a couple of off camber hill climbs add excitement to this trail. Coupled with a couple of short steep rocky wash crossings and deep soft mud make this trail one of my favorites. Evidence of Elk, Antelope and other wildlife make this trail a great one for seeking out some silence and nature.
