Trail Overview

Easy, but beautiful, forest road through the Ponderosa pines of the Coconino National Forest west of Munds Park, AZ. Along this route, you will find many dispersed campsites and access to other 4x4 trails in the area. As always, be a steward of our public lands and national forests; observe Tread Lightly! principles and have fun.

Access Description

From I17, take the Willard Springs Road exit. Proceed to the West side of the interstate on the paved portion of FR 253. Stay right at the fork to reach the large staging area and south trailhead for Ritter Road. Or, for the northern trailhead, take Newman Park Road exit off of I17. Head west of the highway for the trailhead.
