Trail Overview
Trail 3 in the Alto Pit is similar to many of the gravel two-tracks in this OHV area, except it has a couple of harder rock obstacles that make this the hardest trail in the area. It meanders through the high desert forest, starting on Trail 1 and ending in one of the gravel pits, with lots of tight curves, small washouts, and rocks. There is a section of rock obstacles in the middle of the trail. One is a steep rock slab that is on a bit of an off-camber corner that would be very tricky or impossible for ATVs to go up safely. There is a way around it on the left, but is only wide enough for dirt bikes. The second obstacle is a rock ledge that is also quite steep, like a blunt face of rock. You will go up both obstacles if riding east to west, and down them if riding west to east. Both obstacles would be easier to come down.

Difficulty
This is an intermediate ATV trail due to a couple of steep rock obstacles that are the most challenging aspect of this whole OHV area.
