Trail Overview
This is a 3.4-mile-long loop off of the powerline trail in the Tonto National Forest that is a mix of washes and fast dirt trail through the desert. It is mostly pretty easy except for one slightly harder climb out of the wash at the southern apex of the loop. You'll go up this climb if going clockwise. The climb is short but steep and loose, with some embedded rock faces. The east side of the loop goes through a cool sandy wash, with tighter turns that would be hard for a vehicle with a long wheelbase, but is overall pretty easy. There's a rusted old Pontiac in the wash. You go underneath tall canyon walls and over some embedded rock at the bottom of the wash, but it's not hard. At a cairn that is easy to miss, it doubles back north, climbs out of the wash, and continues through the desert on an easy hardpacked dirt road with ruts.
