Trail Overview
This route is an easy gravel road with lots of creeks, campsites, and old logging areas where there is plentiful firewood. The Buffalo Gap Mountain TH is right after you come off Highway 7. The Bear Creek Trail parking area is the spur road off to the right. This trail is an equestrian/walking trail only, with no motorized vehicles as they may spook the horses. I found a great spot to collect some dry firewood, however, there are several areas for firewood collection. There is a really nice campsite on Brush Creek which is close to the North Fork Ouachita River. Be very careful during summer months along any water source in Arkansas as we have cotton mouth snakes who love to hang out near the water. Rattlesnakes and scorpions can also be found in the ONF.

Difficulty
Easy gravel road, nothing out of the ordinary. There were no creek crossings so a car or low clearance vehicle should be fine along this route.
