Trail Overview
This last section of the Cady Mountain Loop exits the sand wash and takes you across the desert floor northeast until you reach the railroad tracks. It then makes a sharp left turn and follows the tracks back to the train trestle and the entrance to Afton Canyon. The trail is mostly hard-packed but there are sections of soft sand. The trail can be difficult to follow as flash flooding has changed the direction in a few areas and made the trail almost impossible to see. If you continue northeast, you will find the trail again but it may disappear several more times. Since there is no way across the railroad tracks, just continue until you reach them and turn left.

Difficulty
This is mostly hard-packed but has some sections of soft sand. It can be done in 2-wheel drive but is rated a 2 since the trail may be difficult to follow due to the erosion from flooding. The section of the loop that starts at the railroad tracks is hard-packed and easy.
