Trail Overview
It is a short and dusty gravel road, and as the name implies, it is a road to discovery. The valley's shape alters the wind in such a way leading to the unique Eureka Dunes. The dune is steep, tall, untouched, and isolated. The tallest sand dune in California, its base has a primitive campground. For those with the Eureka spirit, you can venture south to Steele Pass, challenge your vehicle with obstacles at Dedeckera Canyon, and be rewarded with a refreshing warm bath at Saline Valley Hot Springs. This area is remote and has no cell service; bring food water and extra gas if planning to venture on the trails.
