Short trail but a major treat when the gate is open. Trail terminates at the Patton Lode Mine where you'll find large deposits of quartz, if you look around you will find large hornblende prismatic deposits in the quartz. Steep climb with lots of loose rocks and ruts that may chance with rain events.

Difficulty
Most of the trail is narrow making 2 way traffic impossible. It is steep with loose dirt and ruts in the beginning section. At the first right hairpin turn, there is a small field of loose rocks to negotiate. Some parts further up may be partially washed out forcing you to take a different line.
