Trail Overview
Pole Road (4S04) is a mild dirt road mixed with shallow sand. It is 8 miles one way, 16 miles out and back. It has a few offshoots for camping and even has a route towards the end of the trail to connect to Chidago Loop or back to Fish Slough Road. At the end of the trail is an awesome canyon overlook. This trail is great for a quick outing to see the beautiful Sierra and White Mountains, not to mention Casa Diablo Mountain as well.

Difficulty
This trail is rated a two because it's not a maintained road but it's really not difficult at all. It's not recommended for passenger cars, but a truck/SUV with A/T tires and 4WD/AWD should have no problem. The road is fairly smooth until about a mile or two towards the end; there, you'll need to pick lines between some stones to have a pleasant drive if you're aired up. Mind your momentum on the uphill sandy sections.
