Trail Overview

Short but beautiful hard-core trail. Great views looking down on Gold Lake and Snake Lake. Route open to green-sticker vehicles on posted routes only. Overnight camping in designated sites only. Watch for hikers and mountain bikers on Pacific Crest Hiking Trail.

Difficult: Very steep and rocky descending to Snake Lake with more obstacles coming back up alongside Little Deer Lake. For modified vehicles and experienced drivers only.

Access Description

Follow directions to Bassetts Station as described in Trail #8. From there, head north 6.3 miles on paved Gold Lake Highway. Turn left on Gold Lake Road following signs to boat ramp. Continue straight after 0.45 miles when pavement turns north to boat ramp. Parking and start of trail are just ahead. Adequate room for staging.
