Trail Overview
This nice out and back trail leads from the private Valley View Ranch to Deer Springs. There is an old livestock corral at the end with amazing views of the valley. The trail passes through a mostly devastated Joshua Tree forest from the devastating Dome Fire of 2020, but if one looks closely, one will see signs of greenery coming back on a few of them. The trail is mostly easy and dips, dives, and turns its way up the hill. Watch for a few deeper washouts as they tend to sneak up on you. There was one dispersed camping site near the end of the trail, but no camping is allowed near the very end of the trail. 3 bars LTE service. This is the Mojave Preserve, so only licensed street-legal vehicles are allowed.
