Trail Overview
Brush Creek - Trail 400 is a popular trail for mountain biking and dirt biking in Crested Butte, Colorado. From north to south, it's downhill the whole way, losing over 2,000 feet of elevation. The top part of the trail north of Double Top is rocky and steep with lots of brake bumps through the high mountain tundra above the tree line. South of the intersection with Double Top, it's easier and drops back into the pine trees. It curves all the way downhill through the trees with rocks and roots but has nothing too difficult. It has easy tight curves and switchbacks, until the very south end it gets rockier again, with big round rocks in the trail. Near the south end, there is a big rock slab ledge that is like a ramp, but next to a rock wall, so it's slightly trickier. This is nothing too difficult for the experienced rider but is much easier to go down than up. Overall this is a relatively easy trail with incredible views at the north end, and makes a fun loop with Double Top or many of the other trails in the area.
