Trail Overview

The 2 mile long Fred Garza ATV trail starts off of 5830D, and becomes really rocky right away, with big boulders embedded in the dirt, and lots of small loose rocks covering the surface of the trail. There are big long sections of slab rock that are sometimes flat and sometimes more rounded and chunky. It winds through the pinyon pine, traversing across the side of the mesa. It crosses the Road 5830F, and comes up to a big rock feature that has boulders lining the trail, making it very narrow with a couple one foot rock ledges. This will be a pinch for ATVs. It's really scenic riding along next to the tall rock walls. You keep riding over a lot of boulders and slab, with more one foot tall ledges. You get a really nice view out over the valley as you ride along the edge of the mesa. The whole trail is consistently rocky and will keep you on your toes. Expect there to be a rock ledge behind every corner. It crosses the intersection with 5830C after 1.4 miles, and keeps going south until Road 5830F. The last part is easier with fewer rock ledges.

Access Description

The Seep Springs trail system has about 10 different ATV trails that range from easy to hard, but are all rocky high desert terrain. There is a dirt staging area about 6.3 miles north of Highway 50, on County Road 69. There are a couple dispersed campsites south of the staging area on BLM land. All of the trails are well marked and easy to follow, with pinch points at the entrance to prevent vehicles wider than 50".
