West Alder ATV 798

Trail Overview

This 2.2-mile long ATV trail starts on Pool Table Road and ends on Alder Road north of the West Alder singletrack. There is a small parking area at the west entrance to the trail, and more camping and parking are available just before the trailhead on Pool Table Road. The trail enters the forest as a wide two-track through meadows and pines and lots of beetle kill. It has curvy sections through the trees, on mostly smooth dirt with ruts. Then it has a really narrow shelfy section with a tight switchback as it climbs up the mountain to above 11,300 feet elevation. There is an excellent view of the mountains from the top of the trail before it descends back down. There's a loose rockier section on the descent that is more challenging.
