Trail Overview

Wildhorn Road (Teller County Road 3) is a scenic 4-mile light off-road trail consisting of mostly gravel and dirt. The trail connects through Pike National Forest from Florissant and towards popular trails in the area known as "The Gulches" and Phantom Creek. As you get closer North towards Pike National Forest, you will be welcomed with beautiful views of surrounding mountains as you traverse through the site of the Hayman Wildfire which took place in 2002. At the time, this was the largest wildfire in Colorado's history. The trail is well-maintained and heavily trafficked as there are several private residences along the way. There are no major obstacles on the trail and there are no campsites and no available toilets along the way.
