Trail Overview

Single track #542 is very similar to the many ridge line trails in the Danskin Trail System. This trail system is full of short, narrow, and steep trails that traverse across the tops of the Danskin Mountains. This one in particular has several easy hill climbs and descents as it traverses several hills with saddles in between. The ridge line is pretty wide and the trail isn't too narrow, with not much exposure, so it's still considered easy despite a few steeper sections. Sometimes there are a couple of line choices to choose from on the hills since it's rutted out, and sometimes there is some loose rock in the steep sections. This ridgeline trail, in particular, is a bit higher elevation than the surrounding trails, which gets you high enough to get the view out towards the Rattlesnake Mountains in the distance.

Access Description

The Danskin Trail System covers 60,000 acres and 150 miles of off-road trails in a high desert mountainous terrain. There are three staging areas. Bender Creek Trailhead on the north end, Willow Creek Trailhead on the east end, and Three Point Mountain Trailhead on the west end. This is a very popular riding area, but the trails are so expansive that even when the parking lots are full, you may not run into many people while out riding. The summer is likely very hot and dusty here, so the trails are best in spring and late fall.
