Trail Overview

ATV #550 is 2.6 miles of curvy trail zig-zagging up a mountain in the Boise National Forest, connecting ATV trails #300 and #500. It's full of constant wide-sweeping switchbacks and curves. It gains 800 feet throughout the length of the trail but is a very gradual ascent. Since there are so many turns, the trail is not actually very steep, which also means that the trail has fewer ruts and no brake bumps or whoops. This trail is in great shape and has excellent views of the mountains and valleys from this elevation. It's very curvy with lots of blind corners, so take it slow around the corners. This is a very popular riding area for ATVers and dirt bikers on weekends and weekdays.

Access Description

The Danskin Trail System covers 60,000 acres and 150 miles of off-road trails in a high desert mountainous terrain. There are three staging areas. Bender Creek Trailhead on the north end, Willow Creek Trailhead on the east end, and Three Point Mountain Trailhead on the west end. This is a very popular riding area, but the trails are so expansive that even when the parking lots are full, you may not run into many people while out riding. The summer is likely very hot and dusty here, so the trails are best in spring and late fall.
