Trail Overview
Arid Peak is a rad single track in the St. Joe National Forest with a mix of fast and flowy trail, and rocky scree sections. Sections of the trail go fast and straight through a pine tree forest, with a little bit of overgrowth from the small bushes. It side-hills across grassy alpine mountain sides with moderate exposure. Parts of the trail are super smooth dirt, but other sections are full of rocks, and some sections go through small scree fields on a ridge line. There's a couple hill climbs that are more difficult because of so many rocks. The forest here is really cool with moss on the trees and cool rock features, and really awesome views. The east end of the trail starts at the unmarked intersection with Kyle Creek where there is also a hiking trail that goes to the top of Arid Peak. The west end of this trail is at the intersection with Cedar Mountain where there is a trail sign.
