Trail Overview

Electric Spring is one of several ATV trails in the Sawtooth National Forest south of Twin Falls, Idaho in forested alpine terrain. Overall it's an easy trail through a forest full of aspen trees, with challenges such as ruts and loose rock. The trail is two-track width the entire time, but sometimes half of the trail is rutted out from water runoff. You have to pick the high points of the trail to avoid the ruts, which can be more challenging on an ATV. It goes from leafy deciduous trees down into a sagebrush valley and is really beautiful scenery the whole time. It goes along a creek for much of the trail, and you have to cross the creek a couple of times. The creek crossings are a really shallow stream of water. Some spots in the trail are rockier. Sometimes it's just loose small rock in the trail, but one spot actually has a couple of small boulders and very small drop-offs. It is a steady decline the whole way from Black Mountain Road to Oakley Rogerson Road. There are 50" pinch points on both ends of the trail. There are more ATV trails to explore in this trail system and lots of dirt roads to explore as well.
